Plan the day
Start with a brief huddle: yesterday's progress, today's plan, hazards, and goals. A 5-minute huddle saves an hour of confusion. Assign tasks in writing on a daily plan board everyone can see.
Communicate clearly
Speak in specifics: who, what, where, by when. Confirm understanding by asking the worker to repeat the assignment in their own words. Most jobsite mistakes start as miscommunications.
Hold people accountable
Catch good work in public and bad work in private. Document repeated issues. Celebrate hitting milestones; the team that feels respected outperforms the team that just gets paid.
